More on Sea-change and Sanctuary...

aka: FOLLOW YOUR YELLOW BRICK ROAD...

So the inspiration behind our new home construction has been our recent SEA CHANGE and desire to create a SANCTUARY for our family.  I love words and definitions so thought to share these with you...

SEA CHANGE

Noun (Australian)
seachange: A significant change, one that alters the very nature of the subject
treechange: A movement of people from cities to the countryside

Sea Change
- a profound transformation
- is a kind of: transformation, transmutation, shift — a qualitative change

SANCTUARY

"this place is our sanctuary"  ~ a haven, harbor, oasis, shelter, retreat, hideaway
"she was given sanctuary at that location" ~ safety, protection, shelter
"a wildlife sanctuary" ~ reserve, park, reservation

Noun
Sanc.tu.ar.y |ˈsa ng (k) ch oōˌerē|
1 a place of refuge or safety
2 a nature reserve : a bird sanctuary.
3 a holy place; a temple or church.

ORIGIN Middle English (sense 3) : from Old French sanctuaire, from Latin sanctuarium, from sanctus ‘holy.’  The early sense gave rise to senses 1 and 2.

The movie, Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events has an awesome message about "creating sanctuary together". The 3 children in the movie discover that no matter what unfortunate events occur - there is always something they can do to make a sanctuary together...  I love this closing quote from the movie (below):

“They are the sort of people who know
there is always something…

something to invent…
something to read…
something to bite…

and something to do…
to make a sanctuary together
– no matter how small… “

and last, I will leave you with this poem....

If you long for a Change,  yet relocation is out of bounds
Remember that with family n friends,
Quality Time is PROFOUND

Creating SANCTUARY is key, in both good times and strife
We all need safe HAVEN
, In this journey through life
So always remember, no matter your family
There’s always SOMETHING
to do, that nutures SANCTUARY

Wishing you all much PEACE and the blessing of SANCTUARY with your loved ones...
